Vehicle Description Call Jim Rockford and tell him we found his car! This 1974 61,000 mile Pontiac Firebird was sold new in California and remained with its nearly original owner for 48 years! Car was sold new to someone who very quickly decided he could not make the payments and returned it to the dealership as a virtually new car.
Days later it was sold to Gary who owned the car up until a few weeks ago.
Registration and other documentation backup the story.
It is powered by its original 350 Pontiac engine with a 2-barrel carburetor.
It starts quickly and idles as smooth as glass.
The brakes, suspension, steering and everything else on the car are tight.
The interior is excellent original.
There are no cracks or significant deformities in the dash.
The carpet, door panels, console and seat covers are all in very good condition.
It still has its original radio and original 8-track player.
She is equipped with factory AC but we have not tried to charge the system.
The body is absolutely rust-free and straight as an arrow.
It has received one repaint since new.
The paint is generally in very good condition with the exception of some very noticeable checking on the roof and four small places Gary sanded and primed where the car had been scratched or had minor surface rust.
If you are looking for a retro cool time capsule Firebird then this is your car.
Nothing on this car has been touched up, modified, etc Other than one repaint it's just the way it was the day it left the factory.
