Summary:
This role is responsible for engineering and development of assigned quarter-turn plug and butterfly valves.
This includes providing engineering support for daily sales orders and new product development, providing technical support for sales quotations and customer inquiries, and working with manufacturing to resolve production issues.
The candidate will drive product development activities dealing with issues of production cost, feasibility, quality, performance, reliability, serviceability and customized user features.
Accountabilities Job Functions:
o Providing engineering design support for quarter-turn metallic valves and automation equipment - these include ball, plug, butterfly and check valves and automation components going into some of the world's most critical and dangerous chemical process applications.
This includes providing design engineering support for daily incoming sales orders, providing technical support for sales quotations and customer inquiries, and working with manufacturing and quality assurance to resolve production issues in a timely manner.
o Ensuring engineering design and standards documentation is complete, accurate, and sufficient in support of manufacturing and quality assurance activities.
o Providing technical and customer service support for new customer inquiries including the design of special products, technical evaluations of project sales quotations, application and troubleshooting assistance, and evaluations of returned goods.
o Leading product improvement activities including manufacturability, material cost, and performance enhancements.
o Driving and participating in process improvements within the engineering department in an effort to meet departmental metric goals, including but not limited to product design, bills of material, and drawing throughput, engineering change releases and corrective action request closure rates, and design and bills of material error rates Position Requirements o Must have a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineeringo Must have 3 - 7 years of design or manufacturing experience with valves.
o Valve experience is requiredo Experience with castings, forgings and machiningo Knowledge of various materials, especially grades of steel and other alloyso Understanding of various International Standards relating to valves preferredo Powerful self-driven work ethic, willing to work extended hours as neededSkills:
o Ability to use engineering design and analysis tools, as well as Microsoft Office software and other productivity toolso Understanding of AutoCAD 2D drafting and Inventor 3D solid modelingo Excellent communications skills with ability to manage project teamso Strong mechanical aptitude and excellent problem solving abilities Percentage of Approximate Travel Required 15%.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
